If done with flair, it can still work well. Buy something dodgy for lunch ... about 3pm complain that you're not feeling well whilst holding your belly ... sneak a can of cream corn into the toilet and when someone comes in, poor the whole thing into the bog while groaning. Heck - they'll shout you a taxi home Tongue out

Granted the mature thing would to be honest, but got to have some fun sometimes.

I've pre-orderd and import GTA4 for PS3.  I had a pre-order at Gamesman but when I found it we were getting the censored Aussie version I cancelled more out of principal than anything.

Should be awesome!

Can I ask where you preordered your copy from? I'm considering doing the same thing for a 360 copy but have never ordered games from overseas before.

I just ordered off ebay.  Just look for the following when buying games off ebay:

a) the seller has cheap international shipping
b) the seller has thousands of positive feedbacks

I've bought lots of stuff using these principals.  I managed to get 3 copies of GTA 4 for 80 NZD each delivered.

I also ordered internationally for some friends, but I went through amazon just to manage the risks of anything going wrong I liked the idea of buying from a company not an individual as such.

I too heard that the only scene removed was one containing some one getting a gun stuck where no gun should ever be stuck and im hoping that is all thats missing cos i couldnt care less about that.

I considered ordering it from overseas but it didnt really seem worth my time and effort for (possibly) such a small part missing and having to wait even longer for the game.

Just curious, if u were to import it for the 360 would any copy work or will you have to get another pal version or will any actually work?

Ive got a ps3 so it doesnt effect me but i was curious.

My flatmate and i both have preorders from EB games and have time off work to play it
so feel free to add me PSN: halfbakednz

But that's all it is rumors at this stage

brentbart: I think our Censor folk are pretty savvy and realise that even with a R18 rating, its going to be played by some pretty young kids so will try to tone down some of the really bad stuff accordingly ... and fair enough.

The OFLC reviews what it gets given. It got given the cut version, therefore it reviewed the cut version.

There is nothing from stopping someone to submit the uncut version to the OFLC to import and sell here, the Chief Censor suggesting that it would get an R18 slapped on it anyway, though it'll set you back.

Thanks for the tip pebbles.

Have had a look thru Amazon and even with their most expensive shipping option (delivered in 2-4 working days), it only works out to around $NZ115. Not much different to buying local by the looks and may still get it by the end of the week.

Wish my local harvey norman was opening at midnight, id so be down there..  I thought about ordering from overseas but when it came down to it i couldn't really be bothered with the hassle and extra wait, we will miss out on a couple of scenes, no big deal really, if it was missing multiplayer or some big feature then by all means i would have ordered oversea's, but for a few scenes that are obviously not crucial to the story line, meh..
If your getting the xbox360 version i hope you ordered from the UK, because the american version probably wont work on NZ consoles.

The PS3 is fully zone free. This means that you can order from the states and have no issues with PAL/NTSC like you did with the PS2 :)

wow lots of great infomation.

And detail about cut scenes.... lol

12 hours from now I will be outside that store fending off others to get to the front.

I did try to find out where the delivery was coming from and when.... but I guess the store owner wouldnt trust a GTA4 fan with that information.

As its pre-requisite info for MISSION COMPLETE!

Dont forget to leave your PSN Id's if your getting this game!!

Luckily the same thought occurred to me just before I was going to order it. Bloody hell that was lucky... I would've had a hard time explaining that balls up to the mrs.

Ordering from Amazon UK isnt anywhere near as attractive, around $NZ150 for the same shipping service. Looks like it'll be a local copy for me.

Does anyone know for sure whats been edited though? Seems to be a few different ideas floating around. Even the different sales people I've spoken to have different stories

Vindaloo - Read my post.

You should have no issues ordering it from the states.

And if your missus does give ya a hard time, just tell her some bloke on the interwebs said its okay!
