Cheers mate,
In my case then that looks like business as usual. Only potential issue is if bluray HD audio is encoded as anything above 5.1 44.1/48khz. I only have 5.1 speakers so that's ok on that side, but if any HD audio is above that sample frequency it may get lopped down to this. In practise I don't think I've seen a dolby or dts hd track sampled above this though, I may be wrong on this.

I'll practise at a later date, but this seems to address what I need for mains plus zone two. Thanks for the extra detail.

eh - does that mean it loses the ability to output 7.1 TrueHD/DTS-HD LCPM?

yeah kinda looks that way.

Actually a lot of zone two concepts in receivers work that way.  I you use the second zone 2 output it uses the back surround channels to power this, so you're then limited to 5.1 on the mains and 2 channel on the zone 2.

have you seen the new 3.00 browser, same as the old, just optimized.

I've never been a fan of the playstation browser, it's always been slow, but i tested it out yesterday and it was much faster than usual, just a pain it only takes around 6-7 tabs at a time :S

my graphics card is getting looked at so computers down. I've been using the PS3 browser for the last couple of days... SO frustrating, but bearable i suppose, slightly more stable with firmware 3 but still crashes the PS3 3 or 4 times a day. The active "Dynamic" theme option looks like it might be good, but only seen one demo (the zebra one) Wish i could get the original font size back, even going back to classic theme it's still an ugly large font.dont like how it hides unhighlighted titles when browsing thru your library either...

Yeah the Zebra looks good, how do you get it?
I've heard it's a Japanese PSN theme only :(

i hope they make the browser library better too, a lot more like LinuxMCE or WindowsMCE would be way nicer :) with thumbnails actually organised properly

Just hearing the library comment, I haven't networked my PS3 with my desktop yet, but I was kinda hoping there would be a way of organising files on the PS3 hard drive directly. From what I hear though you can't really see a file/directory structure or anything like that on the PS3 from the PC.

Trying to edit song titles/artist etc on the PS3 without a keyboard is very time consuming and there's no way of grouping songs in to folder etc

Or is there?....

Square groups by album/artist/date/something like that anyway?
