Regs: yet for all the supposed technological superiority, ATI still have a poor record when it comes to blu-ray and h.264 decoding...perhaps we will need to run two gpu's - one for gaming and a seperate one for video
I don't have any problems with my 5770. In fact, I'm very happy with it. I just got it in December 09, having used nvidia since 1999!

I have to agree with this.  I have a HD5770 and it does a great job with Freeview HD and blu ray.  I think AMD historically have lagged behind nVidia on this front, and I do think that generally speaking nVidias drivers have been more reliable, but AMD really have got their act together in recent times -I hope it stays that way.

I also think that while this generation hands-down belongs to AMD, I'm sure nVidia will bounce back with Fermi2, or at least I hope they do, based on the assumption that they actually learn from their mistakes
