Grr. I have the collector's edition installed, mocking me. To activate it, I need to log into B.net which I can't do because I lost my authenticator tag! Dammit!

Now to wait for Blizzard support to call me.

Good luck! I've only had success when I called them and waited on hold for AGES.

Were you using the Mobile Authenticator or the actual unit?

Do you have iPhone or iPod Touch? I think you can get the Battle.net Authenticator App. I never bothered with it, in fear of suck can happen...

I've also avoided it out of fear of something happening. A friend's went for a swim in coffee and he had to call Blizzard in the US and wait on hold for two hours...

Calls are probably at an all-time high at the moment, which doesn't help. My Battle.net account doesn't seem to have been provisioned correctly so I'm waiting for Blizz to get back to me too.

I have a physical device. I have a second one too, so I can rebind it to that, but they take aaaaaaageeeeeeees to do anything.

Ah, and chiefie, unfortunately I already have an authenticator linked, so I can't simply relink a new one because I need my current one to do that.

I'm avoiding it for now, I think it's overpriced for only having 1 species campaign and no lan.

Will probably wait for it to come down and for a battle chest type edition.

chiefie:
xpd: The CE has SC, BW and SC2. ;)

I think @Kaos36 meant when all three species' pack are out... The next two are Zerg and Protoss specific storylines.

No doubt there'll be like LOTR style, one collector's edition for each "episode" then there's ultimate battlechest edition for all 3 species...

Ah right, didnt reaslise they were doing it like that...havent read up on it myself as have no PC to game on.

Ah I remember the fun of swapping between the 10 or so 720k size floppy disks the Amiga Dune 2 used when loading the next level.

* Disclaimer: May have been less than 10 disks.

If I may boldly say, I doubt Blizzard will patch it so it can be LAN... the method they're patching and delivering the client is all pretty much obvious that they model it after WoW. So you go on Battle.net to register the game key, this set a token activated on your Battle.net account and say what games is active and valid to play.

With client has to be connected to Battle.net to authenticate its presence with the server, that will reduce the piracy.

Good thing with this is, if you lost the game DVD, you just download it from Battle.net server. And the same will be for Diablo III and SCII two other episodes.

Flipside, Battle.net goes down due to overloading, and no game for you.  And that's even with Blizzard's new Australian datacentre.

Tip of the day: don't be afraid to call them - I just called in to sort out my issue (they've got extended phone support hours for the launch) and I spent exactly no time at all on hold. Call got answered in less than 5 seconds of ringing (after navigating the "press 1" maze) and took less than 5 minutes to sort my issue.

Blizzard has responded to my support request (I've been unable to add any of my friends) and tells me that I can't add friends from the US region (all of my friends are from the US) if I'm in the SEA region. I can't find any option to change the region; does anyone here know how to do it? Or will I have to wait another two days for Blizzard to get back to me again?
