Hopefully they'll still exchange - I bought a 3DS from EBGames in Aussie and they assured me that their NZ stores would honour the warranty.

I would say take it back and get a replacement if your not getting any signal it is likely a faulty unit. There is no way to transfer saves so if you wait longer you will just be losing more progress.
It's unbelievable to me, that Nintendo could even CONSIDER releasing a gaming device where your save games couldn't be backed up/saved etc.
This is from the company that has in the past made it so you had to buy the digital copy twice if you had 2 consoles. They dont seem to get online. They are in their own little world for things where they make it so hard that kids just skype/facetime each other when playing splatoon because of the lack of normal online gaming features like chat.
Wifi issues not a channel problem are they? Ive just found that my bought in NZ LG speakers will not do all the channels that they should, and as typical for LG total silence on that front. Is the switch even dual band?
Batwing: What's everyone doing for cases/screen protectors?
I thought I'd go naked around the house the first few days and so has the switch, but now I'm ready to venture further afield I picked up a an official case and screen protector from JB hi-fi.
People across the world are finding the Switch's screen to be incredibly scratch prone. It would seem they made it shatter proof but not scratch proof, and the act of docking and undocking the Switch is scratching them. I purchased a tempred glass screen protector and had it applied as soon as I opened the box. I also have an official carry case for it for when I decide to take it out into the world :)

I would expect them to introduce save file management in a firmware update. It is a bit bizarre not having it, but I guess it is technically not required for the console to be playable - they might have ommitted things considered to be "nice to haves" in order to launch faster.
As for Wi-Fi issues, my flatmate and I have not experienced Wi-Fi issues, though I did notice it drag its heels when connecting the other day. I just rebooted the device and it behaved itself; the Switch doesn't turn off easily instead favouring sleep mode, it's been my experience over the years that if you don't occasionally shut down and reboot complex electronics they can go funny.

Finally got the Wifi working. Done a hard reset and it came right. Phew. The Missus will be even happier now lol.

Batwing: Where did you get the glass screen protector and would you recommend the one you got?
I grabbed the first plastic one I found - haven't used a plastic one on anything in ages and it's definitely a step backwards.
EB Games has them for $20 or so. I would strongly recommend it, especially seeing all the reviews about scratched screens

Cheers. I'll need to have another look, only found the plastic ones there last time I went and was considering resorting to aliexpress which has netted me good ones for phones in the past.
Edit: EB says no
Picked up I Am Setsuna as a tick over game to span me from Zelda to the next decent game to launch, but that is looking to be one long haul. I didn't realise just how many of their launch year games have been branded TBC 2017 or "Season X", there are almost no games with actual launch dates right now

Hi everyone,
Just a heads up that The Warehouse's online store has a sale on the Switch which ends tonight. I just stumbled onto it and picked one up for $490 which seems a decent saving given how infrequently Nintendo discount its products.
Cheers,
