Real shame going to miss taking my son in to the store looking at all the cool stuff. They've been my go to for limited edition releases.

Really feel management didn't keep up with times, looking at similar web they have 800k visitors on website past 3 months seems not converting sales.

Ah should have held off on the couple of games I bought last week at 30% off until the actual closing down sale, but I guess no guarantee they'd still have them. Will have another look and see if there's anything else worth getting.

technically you could return them under their 1 week return window and just buy them again since they're still allowing these returns.

But think that'll be a bit of a dick move to staff 😊 - no doubt people will still try.

I'm in the same boat having purchased some games last week but think it's not really worth the $40 or so I'll get back.

Yeah it works out to about $23 difference for me so not going to bother trying that.

I wonder if the site will crash at 1pm when the closing sale starts...

I expect anything good will be sent to Australia. I see the website now says excludes hardware (it didn't last night) so you won't be getting a PS5 50% off.

And as probably expected it's 1pm and the website won't load.

I just took a lunch break and thete are probably a couple of 100 people waiting outside the store, with a small trickle inside. At least 6 cops watching the crowd and the shelves looked empty.

Lol I get "your wait time is 50 minutes" on the website now.

Edit: it's changed to 1 hour and 15 minutes now.

My two minute wait in the queue has been ten so I guess all the decent stuff is gone.

I don't rate their website queuing system very much.

My session started out at 1pm with a 1 minute wait, and every 20 seconds the page refreshes and changes to another number anywhere from 3 minutes to 10 minutes. It's all over the place.

25 minutes actually waiting in the queue so far. I don't think I can be bothered with this!

Just saw a video posted by one of the Lower Hutt City Councillors showing the queue for EB Games at Queensgate, easily 100m long extending right out into the carpark
