i know it sounds terrible(and yes i have played most of the games allready mentioned)

my favourite game is WoW

its the only game to have held my attention for more then a few months, the storyline is engrossing and the gameplay is challenging (if you want it to be)

its got the real human interaction that made diablo online so popular with all the customising of D&D.. dozens of subgames, what more could i want

having said that every now and then i jump on CoD

this is where a signature goes

+1. Also, Road Rash on Sega Megadrive. Nothing beats whacking people off motocycles with a baseball bat or chain!

Aww, I was going to say hide & seek, but you got me with the platforms. Instead I'll go with Worms or Homeworld.

i'm going fairly old school and saying BOLO for the macintosh.  We used to play multiplayer games across the universite hall and the internet back in 1991/1992.

http://www.lgm.com/bolo/intro/

"Bolo is a 16 player graphical networked real-time multi-player tank battle game. It has elements of arcade-style shoot-em-up action, but for the serious players who play 12 hour games with 16 players working in teams in different networked computer clusters around an office or university campus, it becomes more of a strategy game. You have to play it to understand."

That would have to be in my top 5 - absolute classic!

Good soundtrack too.
