lokhor: One of the great things about PS4 (and PS3) is if you pay for a Playstation Plus account you get free games every month.

Xbox has the 'free' games with the Games with Gold on a gold subscription.  This month had Assassins Creed IV - Black flag for one of the free titles.  If you have two consoles (360 + One) then you get games for each.  You also get to keep them for life as someone else mentioned.

tdgeek:
And dont SVOD apps get to PS before XB?

Lightbox is available on the PS3/PS4, but you wont find TVNZ, TV3, or SKY GO there.  Does the availability of one SVOD service somehow translate into PS getting apps first? nah...

Quickflix, Netflix, Vevo, Youtube services are available to NZ Xbox audiences.

If you're region surfing then there is also Hulu, Amazon Instant Video, FOX, The CW, SyFy, USA, FXNOW, Crackle, Cinema Now, Jukevox, Xbox Video, Ch 5 UK, 4 on Demand UK, BBC iPLayer, CBC Canada, Yahoo 7 Aud, SBS Aus, tenplay  Aus.

So to confirm, you are saying, I subscribe for gold for a year, I don't continue it, games obtained in the 12 months I had a subscription are mine forever, without requiring an ongoing subscription of any type?

This is true for XB360, not for XB1.  XB1 has adopted the same model as PS+

Do I get to keep the games?
For Xbox One, you can play them as long as you have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription. Xbox 360 free games are yours to keep.

Warning: reality may differ from above post

Of course it has been stated that all future Xbox 360 games for gold games will be backwards compatible with Xbox One so in theory you get two games per month for Xbox One forever :)  The native Xbox One games are effectively being rented while you have a subscription similar to PS Plus.  Of course Xbox Live subs can also be got for quite a bit cheaper than PS Plus membership.

yes - sorry.  i thought it was all games.  (must read fine print).  In reality you kinda need gold anyway, as I think you still need it for multiplayer (although I could be wrong on that too....)
