I need 5 surface mount RJ45 jacks.

Anyone used these before  http://www.notjustcables.co.nz/rj45-surface-mount-jack-pi-83273.html

They look like they would be fiddly to connect but they are only $3.80+GST

Another option is to use keystones but then I would have to get mounting blocks and faceplates and clips and a punchdown tool - this will be significantly more expensive.

Any other options?

What are you using them for? Those ones look fine for voice but certainly dont look like theyve been designed for data

I hate screw terminals. The cat5e version is only $6.50 ( http://www.notjustcables.co.nz/cat5e-single-port-floor-mount-p-82946.html ), and those combination punchdown tool / cable strippers are cheap.

IDC is a lot quicker than screw terminals, and provides a far better connection :)

They're not exactly hard to find. Jaycar have keystone jacks and surface mount boxes, they just cost a bit more (like most things at jaycar..).

single jack box: http://jaycar.co.nz/productView.asp?ID=YN8022
dual jack box: http://jaycar.co.nz/productView.asp?ID=YN8024
keystone jack: http://jaycar.co.nz/productView.asp?ID=YN8030
