Hello network-people.

I'm thinking of trying out MoCA solution for some re-networking in the house, utilising RG-6 if possible.


If this can work co-exist with Freeview-HD DVB-T signal that'll be great.

Keen on suggestion of what MoCA devices available/recommended.




Internet is my backyard...

I am not entirely sure if any NZ distributor stocks MoCa stuff.

Homeplug seems to be the popular thing here - thats ethernet over power lines. Much more flexible and i think the speeds over short distances are now up around 500mbps.

I am pretty sure Moca will work with freeview - it is aimed at motels who need a way to distribute a broadband signal over an existing tv cable network, without having to put cat5 in each room.

A quick search shows these. I thought that Dynamix used to stock some but not anymore apparently

If you're wanting to push Ethernet over BNC terminated coax, a pair of VDS-0202 will do the job. They need a dedicated cable though, won't co-exist with the TV signal.

I have EoP network already, just looking to use RG6 to carry both ethernet and tv signal arou d the house.
