I have a Bluetooth enabled iPAQ 3955 with Bluetooth 1.1, Infrared, USB. My problem is the Bluetooth Manager asks to insert the ipaq into the bluetooth wireless pack. Also the radio on has to be turned on from file explorer (it is not on the Today screen). Is the problem that the ipaq does not have bluetooth and a sleeve or card must be purchased, or the bluetooth software is corrupted or incomplete. I purchased this used and have no software or manuals. the bluetooth manager does not even go into a menu for setup. iPAQ 3955 with 3.00.08 CE 4.2 PXA250 Radio Revision 1.0 (radio present N)

Welcome to Geekzone... It sounds like a corrupted configuration... I suggest you hard reset your Pocket PC.

Thanks for getting back so quickly. Iv'e already done a hard reset (I hate doing that so much to put back in). I've also noticed the Bluetooth manager file in "programs" is empty. And I've downloaded and installed sp21032 bluetooth manager for ipaq devices from compaq. What next??

Ok, now i've done my research. The 3955 is bluetooth "enabled" meaning it will work with bluetooth but it does not have the nessessary hardware. So now I'd like to be able to use bluetooth, but I need to know if it's possible using a PCMCIA jacket and a Bluetooth CardBus. I do know the Bluetooth card has availible drivers for CF but is there a way to have these drivers identify the PCMCIA. I did this with an Airport Card and Linux drivers but for bluetooth I come up empty. Is my only option to purchase a TDK Bluetooth sleeve or bluetooth SDIO card?

Well no answer on that one, I have a PCMCIA jacket will my ipaq recognize a CF bluetooth card in a PCMCIA adapter. If so why will it not recognise a PCMCIA bluetooth card.

For any external Bluetooth hardware you will need the proper drivers, which will be supplied with the add-on...
