Hey

What are these like? Would you recommend them?

At the moment, i m connecting 2 15m cat 5e cables via a 4 port 100mbps ethernet switch. I guess this is inefficient. Its also very annoying as it takes up space and a power point.

They're what they say they are - a joiner for two Ethernet cables.

Work fine, and providing you're not trying to exceed the 100m Ethernet limitation do exactly what they're supposed to do.

30m is really long for a patch lead so check if theres an easy way of doing it better. If the cables are dodgy from being exposed like that, the link may not work as well if you put them on a Gigabit network.

You might be able to find a way to run a new cable under floor or through ceiling and put RJ45 jack points on the wall at each end, but if thats not happening then the coupler will be fine as long is it doesnt get stood on or damaged (but then so are the cables themselves).




Time to find a new industry!
