Hey all,

I have been reading the forums for the last few days and I have tried to the articles, tried to read the messages and apply what I have found, but for some reason the neurons just are not firing and I am not getting there.

I have read and read and followed and re-followed, starting from scratch multiple times, and I am just not getting it. I am not stupid, I do know my way around a computer very well, just not ICS and IPAQs, they are both very new to me.

Please, I know you guys go over this over and over again, but I am just not getting it from the other guides.

I am trying to get Internet Connection on my Ipaq 2215 through a Kensington USB Bluetooth (this shows up as an MSI Bluetooth) adapter on my Windows XP Rig.

I can get them paired, I can get them to do remote file access, but I cannot get internet connection sharing. At one point I was able to ping my server (I have a W2K3 Server) using vxUtil and it came back with 5 good (100%) pings, but I could not ping outside my own network.

I have a Microsoft BroadBand Router that is using these settings:

Local Area Network (LAN) Settings

This section displays a summary of settings for your LAN.

Local IP address: 192.168.1.1
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP server: Enabled
Firewall: Disabled

My desktop is setup with a static IP address of 192.168.1.100 andmy server is using 192.168.1.101, both machines have their DNS entries set and both machines browse the internet and each other ok.

I do have Norton Personal Firewall installed, but throughout testing I have had it disabled.

Someone PLEASE give me a step by step I can follow.

i.e.

Should I have the bluetooth usb adapter installed, and all the settings set on it (Network Access with Internet Access Enabled) and ICS setup before I do anything on the Ipaq? And how exactly should I setup ICS in my situation?

Thanks a ton, will pay back the people that help me however I can.

Well, I upgraded my IPAQ to the latest (from 1.0 to 1.1) and then went through everything again, step by step, and it worked!

Awesome, now lets find out what its range is, can I sit downstairs? I hope so.

Sorry about the previous post, I was just not taking my time and thinking clearly.

Hey, that's what people need sometimes. Write the stuff out. Stop a little, think, try with a different approach.

Good news it's now working for you!
