Hi there,

Currently my DSL jackpoint is about 10-12 meters from the demark.

If I got the length shortened to say 1-2 meters will I get better sync / speeds?

Just wanted to check if anyone else has had this done?

Currently getting:

Down - 13
Up - 3

Your VDSL speed 13/3 is totally unacceptable - I had identical speeds on VDSL and went back to ADSL.
With anything less than 15/5 Chorus should have refused to provision you.
The length if the in-house cable run is almost irrelevant to speed.
Do you have a master filter and Cat6 cable? - much more important.

Well its better then my ADSL speeds which was

Down - 9
Up - .700

The reason I am asking is the Tech that came out said that testing the line from his device he was getting around 15 down and 4 up.

However from my modem I only get down 13 and up 3. So was wondering if the cable length had anything to do with it.

Yes have a filter installed however not using a cat6 I think I have cat5

In both cases have a master spliter installed

No if existing internal cable is either twisted 6 way (3 distinctive pairs with each pr twisted together [red/white, blue/green, orange/black) , homelan (2 pairs of wires - one blue/white and one Orange/white set) or Cat5/6.

Possibly Yes if your internal cable is untwisted twin (commonly known as bell wire), 4 way (4 wires semi twisted or spiralled together) , spiralled 6 way (6 wires [same colours as 6way above] rapped around a string former in the middle)

Edit - After now seeing your reply above to someone else - ie Cat5e the andswer is deffinatly No
