As part of our impending fibre install I'm running Cat6 to the lounge and master bedroom. I've acquired most of the bits and pieces I need, now I'm focusing on a patch panel.

I will initially only be running 6 lines (4 to lounge, 2 to bedroom) with possibility of more in the future (but really not needed at present). I've got a 8 port gigabyte switch on its way and will be terminating all the lines in a hallway closet. I won't be installing a cabinet and would prefer to wall mount devices. Initially I was going to terminate each line with a RJ45 plug directly into the switch, but now I'm leaning towards a patch panel to keep things tidy.

Any recommendations on a (cheap) 8 or 16 port patch panel that I can acquire within the next few days (either locally in Chch or online). I've looked at a couple of Dnyamix products but am always happy to seek advice from GZ.

Thanks,

Have a look at http://www.dynamix.co.nz/ and search for PP-MINI

I've used these a number of times in the past and quite like them for tiny commercial installations.  Multiple places should have them online for around the $70+GST for the Cat6 model or $55 for the Cat5 model.

Dynamix Mini 12-port is the business.

If you want something a bit flasher have a look around for an Amdex 10" cabinet. They come in 3, 6 and 9RU but are only 10" wide. They have specially made 12-port panels that rack mount as well as jumper rings and shelves the sit in them. They can look really good.

I put one in my parents house and it was perfect!......

Thanks for the suggestions! The PP-Mini looks to be the ticket although I will take a better look at the Amdex.

Cheers
