Looking for suggestions please

An appliance that will filter IP traffic into smal network 20(users), Ideally if it could cache www traffic, and provide malware filtering, URL logging & filtering

I found lots of very expensive enteprise products, but want something fits budget of 20 user network, maybe $1000 plus annual subscription

What server OS do you have in place at the moment in your network/organisation? If you are using SBS 2003 Premium, then you have ISA 2004 server which is firewall/proxy in one.

Let's learn about your organisation network a bit first.

SBS 2003 Standard for Server, 20 x Windows XP clients, could be possible to upgrade to premium, but ISA on its wont ward off any Malware

Internet connection is CISCO 857 ADSL Router, would it be possible to use this, I know it wont be able to cache, as no storage though

I think your nuts if your seriously considering using ISA, in my opinion of course.

Symantec had quite a cool box I tried last year which probably does all you want. Network security appliance based on a customized Linux distro which did all your usual firewall features plus mail filtering, malware/virus filtering (with inspection of download files even if they ere in ZIP/RAR etc), content filter, transparent/semi-transparent proxy(from memory) VPN(L2TP or SSL) appliance and would even restrict VPN and/or local users from network access if they didn't have up to date antivirus definitions I think.

Buggered if I can remember the name of it though sorry :)
