Does anyone else have this setup. Im interested in problems other people have with there setup i keep losing connection with the keyboard and sometimes the mouse and wont to see if anyone else is having the same problem?

I don't have this, but would look for the following:

- plug the USB adpater directly to a USB port. Do no use USB Hubs
- verify in Device Manager that Power Management options are unchecked for your USB Root Hubs
- check that no one is using a 2.4GHz cordless phone around
- check that this is not caused by a microwave oven being used around
- check that you have new batteries

A question for you Sir
Why invent somthing like this when a simple mobile lan line can cause problems, do manufactures not realise that now days people run moible lan lines as a standard form and sort out some sort of situation for this not to happen. I find that 2.4ghz is a standard range setting for most componants i.e wireless networks and others. what we create these days there is always somthing electrical that is going to cause a problem with another electrial device. wheres the sence in that?

The ISM band (2.4 GHz) is unlicensed, meaning that if you were to be using some networking over other bands it would cause problems because each country have different rules, etc.

2.4 GHz was originally used by medical equipment. Wireless LAN uses this band but in different channels, to prevent overloading of the channel, and Bluetooth uses 2.4 GHz with frequency hoping to prevent colision. However some devices such as 2.4 GHz cordless phones are a pain - that's why there's the DECT standard for cordless phones, which guarantees they won't cause conflicts.

if you check the logitech forums you'll see a lot of people having connection issues with the MX5000. The problem seems to be in the supplied BT / USB dongle. If you have internal bluetooth or some other BT adapter you can use, give it a try. I personally use my MX5000 with my laptop's internal BT and it works flawlessly.

(awesome mouse, by the way)
