Hi all, I have a Technicolor TG589vn v2 in bridge mode and a Linksys E1500 running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (05/27/13) big - build 21676
Problem is that I can't telnet to the Technicolor, Putty closes as soon as I enter after the cursor moves to password box. I am able to telnet to Linksys though. PPOE authentication is done through Linksys if that helps. I was able to do this before I am sure when I was running Technicolor on it's own. Please let me know if more info is required, here is a screen shot from Technicolor logs. Any thoughts?

cant you just use the built-in telnet in windows? if you are running windows that is?

i have no issues but i dont have anything else in the chain, just the technicolour

Thanks tried that and it worked. For some reason I thought the command for built-in telnet in windows was "telnet 192.168.2.1", I am sure this is what I used last time! Tried with "open 192.168.2.1" and it worked.

Tried SSH rather than telnet ? Most devices refuse telnet connections these days due to the security risks.

SSH doesn't even give a login prompt, just blank putty window.

Could it be putty, will try uninstalling and installing it but then it connect fine to E1500

Putty will usually pop up a "can't connect" window when it times out and is unable to connect. Not disabled "External access" on the TG589 have you ?

No, haven't disabled external access.

Guess what, it's working now on putty, I swear I tried rebooting modem before too but it didn't work and this time when I rebooted modem it works now, did not have to re install puttty either. Weird
