I have been successfully connecting to my work's VPN (Cisco IPSec) to work from home via the Netcomm modem from Trustpower. I've just switched to Spark using their Huawei HG659b modem and while the VPN manager on my Mac tells me it has connected to the remote network, I'm unable to connect to any computers on that network.

Does anyone know of what settings I need to change on the Huawei to get this to work?

Are you connecting wirelessly or via ethernet?

I can't connect to VPN via wireless at all with the 659b.

Works OK via Ethernet.

Hi Mike

Tried both. Still no luck trying to reconfigure my old netcomm modem to Spark to see if that works.

I use Cisco IPSEC VPN without an issue.

Saw there is an issue with the latest update the El Capitan.. are you sure it's not your mac??

Is the IP range of your LAN different to the range that is in use at the remote site? That has caught me out when people have changed their routers in the past.

Thanks Rich,

I reconfigured my old Netcomm. Works perfectly. The IP ranges are different so I might try changing that, or alternatively just add the Spark Huawei modem for the Wifi.

Anyway, I called Spark support back to ask for info on how to configure VPN (there's a VPN section in the modem setup, but no documentation about it that I can find). They told me they won't offer any help for this and that I had to subscribe to some kind of premium support yell
