Hi I am stuck...

Spark VDSL2 Technicolour TG589xx V2 Router and 8 port Ethernet Switch...

I did have the PC running direct of the router but recently got the Smart TV and PS3 connected via this new switch/ethernet cabling to the lounge from the router in master bedroom..All working ok...

Now I have moved the PC into office in basement directly below the TV/PS3/Ethernet switch in the lounge and connected the PC with an ethernet cable to the switch..

But the WIN/PC only finds a local network and I dont know how to get the PC to find the Router via the switch..??

I have googled this on the internet and no go plus nothing here for this type of connection....

Can I do this?? If so how in WIN 7 Home Premium 64bit....??

Any info much appreciated

(FYI I have internet via ASUS Tablets WiFi connection to the Router)

Thanks Laurie

is it getting its ISP via DHCP? can you access the technicolours GUI? can you ping it? can you ping any of the other devices on the network?

did you change any of the setting on the desktop when moving it?

Thanks...I hadnt tried accessing the Technicolours GUI due to the PC not locating the router so went ahead and tried the IP address in the browser....no deal couldnt find it but the Spark Broadband Assistant popped up.
So I followed that and have discovered the Routers Ethernet ports dont power up...aka no Ethernet green light on the front panel of the router...

I confirmed the switch is in the green ok and tried accessing YouTube with the PS3 and it also could not get an intenet connection...

I will be contacting Spark Help Desk on the number the SBA advised plus the info it furnished and see if they can confirm this...

Many thanks for the prompt.....Laurie

Now waiting for a call back from Sparks Tech call centre...hoping to get a replacement Router as this one seems to have developed a fault in the ethernet ports....if I dont get a call I will go into the local Spark store here in Alex to get a replacement organised...Laurie

Well Ive recieved the call back ok from Spark Tech support....after reseting the router and she did a remote test, we confirmed the ethernet ports werent working and she arranged a replacement VDSL Huawei (router) with a discount!! I just cant recall what she called it rather than a router...will check their web site etc...

Thanks for the two people that helped...much appreciated and now looking forward to the newer router and getting my PC/TV/PS3/Freeview box back online..Laurie
