Hi all.

Is there anyone who has setup a NetGear D7000 modem/router for use with Spark UFB? Have just got UFB installed (yesterday!) and while the Spark supplied Huawei is doing a good job, I'd prefer to use the NetGear (which was used for ADSL with Spark).

If anyone is able to point me in the right direction in terms of getting it set up that would be greatly appreciated. Need a dummys guide for this I think :-D

You need VLAN tagged 10, and PPPoE, any random username and password will do.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've followed the instructions on the following netgear website:

http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/30945/~/how-do-i-set-up-my-netgear-dsl-modem-as-a-router-if-i-have-spark-nz-fibre-or?cid=wmt_netgear_organic

As well at the many forum posts on this site and for some reason it just isn't working for me. I've installed the latest firmware for the modem and I'm pretty sure I'm plugging it into the right place. I'm stuck. Any suggestions?

Maybe post some screenshots of the interface so people can give you a better idea?

So far, no good. I could get it to connect by plugging the Huawei into the ONT then using a Lan port, connecting to the WAN port on the Netgear. This worked and allowed connection to the internet via wireless and wired through the Netgear. Am I wrong in thinking that I should be able to plug the Netgear straight into the ONT? Frustrated for sure!

You definitely should. Just checking, you're plugging it into the correct port on the ONT?

Pretty sure I am. All I'm doing is unplugging the ethernet cable from the Huawei, straight into the Netgear and leaving the other end in the ONT. I've even factory reset the Netgear.

So here's a few pics of the ONT and cables. The yellow ethernet cable is connected to the internet plug on the modem to the ONT.

Got it working finally! Not sure what I did that was different other than looking at the manual 😂. Thanks for all the help.
