Am just wondering on the best / easiest method to do a ping and speedtest to Murica. I downloaded the Speedtest.net app and it works locally but can't see any way to pick a location, like I used to be able too, anywhere in the world, like LA. Same for their web page. Am I missing something ? Any preferences / suggestions ?

Below the big yellow GO button there is a link you can click to CHANGE SERVER. From there you can search for a location.

Can you see that on your phone/tablet screen?

I'm using an iPhone with a current iOS version.

Have it on my PC. I've seen that but the furthest away is basically Melbourne.

Hmmm... on my PC I'm not using an app.... just the web site using Chrome. Down the bottom I can click Change Server, and if I type in Chicago (random US city that sprung to mind), I get results that I can select.

On the web site click "change server", in the search box start typing "los angeles". L.A servers will appear. at least they do for me.

I havn't found a way to select or find any servers other than NZ or Australian in the Windows app.

Duh, thanks, never even registered the presence of the search box, just scrolled up and down the list and thought is that all ? Thanks for that.

Think I preferred the version with the map though.

P.S. If somebody could be kind enough to wander over to https://emby.media/community/ and have a wander round (especially the View New Content bit) it would be nice please. Its unusually slow for me at the moment (4-6 second wait if I click on a topic) and was wondering if its just me.

Down the very bottom right you can select the legacy site, it requires flash though

You'll get the map version etc.

I'm on Spark fibre, the Emby forums aren't terribly quick.. takes about 4-5 seconds clicking on a thread from within the new content section.

Same thing happens on my work laptop, via VPN, on the same Spark fibre connection but it'll be using my work proxy.

Thanks for that. Apparently I haven't got flash. Must have got rid of it in the long and distant past.

Thanks for the Emby info as well. I'll inquire further on their forum (usually its fine btw).

Don't have any VPN type stuff, but do have a DNS used for watching overseas 'stuff', but I've had that for years and its been fine. Oh well.

The VPN is just work provided VPN as I'm working from home, the theory was to see if the same problem exists with going via my works proxy (internet connection) which it does

If you're using Chrome you need to allow flash
