I am considering laying some ethernet cables to add an access point and to have a wired connection to the TV.

1. I was thinking of using cat6 Dynamix C-C6-SLDBLUE. Is that a good choice?

2. It could become necessary to bury a small length in the ground, would Dynamix C-C6EXT-SLDBK be suitable?

3. Any general tips on pulling wires will be welcome. (All this will be underneath the house, wires emerging into wall cavities at the destinations.)

Bury it in a bit of hose pipe or similar and it'll prob be ok. Ive had some ethernet outside exposed for prob 2 years now and no issues :D

If your not confident going into the walls, Floor plate installs work well against the skirting.

Underfloor access makes it really easy to do. If you plan on terminating yourself, i'd pickup even just a cheap cable tester just to ensure the joins are good etc - often a bad connection will still work but could become a problem if say you try pumping poe over it.. automdix is a great thing and a curse at the same time.

I'd run more runs if you can. It's easy enough to run a second line while your down there and you never know when you will need it.

The amount of times i've run multiple lines here and then ended up needing to crawl under again... i always end up cursing myself.

Could not agree more, run three times the amount you always need more down the line.

Thanks for good suggestions, @xpd @hio77 @JaseNZ - I had been thinking about doubling up, now wondering about tripling :-)

I take it, that the plain Dynamix cable I suggested found general approval...

I've found Dynamix cable to be hit and miss over the years as they source it from different manufacturers. The current cable is really nice to pull, I used another 4 boxes of it last week for a job.

Cables can vary so much between brands, and even different boxes between brands. There is nothing more frustrating than getting cables that don't pull smoothly and snag.
