I recently got a phone installed onto my fiber and the phone plugs into the otn box.
The problem is I would like to use the fritzbox features such as the answering service etc..
I've tried plugging a rj11 to rj45 from the otn box to the dsl/tele on the fritzbox then a phone into my fritzbox, but it still doesn't work.
Any idea how I can get the signal from the otn box to my home network? Is there a setting I'm missing or something?

So what you are telling me is there's no way I can put a cable from the otn box into the fritz box and a phone into the fritz box and use it that way?

You can't, ONT interface is ATA (analog telephone adapter).

Analog phone can connect to Fritbox. The Fritzbox can use its own SIP client capability (needs to be configured) to talk to a SIP server. Fritzbox can't talk back over an analog phone interface and communicate with a SIP server via the ONT, i.e., an analog phone interface doesn't support an IP stack, it supports analog phone signals (designed in the late 1800s).

But I'm not trying to talk to a sip server. If I plug my analogue phone into the otn box it works.

Fritzbox won't provide a dialtone to any analog phone until its SIP client is configured.
