Hi guys,

I'm keen to hear from people who have failover setups in their home - failing over to the 4G network when fibre goes down.
What's your setup? What devices are you using? Which 4G provider?

I'm interested in configuring a failover to 4G setup with a Ubiquiti Edgerouter or USG, for alarm and camera monitoring if there is a fibre outage.

Thanks!

Phil.

Ubiquiti has this product, but not sure if it can work here though.

One of these connected to an interface on my little Mikrotik RB750 router with a 2degrees SIM (luckily running on a corporate APN that allocates a public IP).

The Mikrotik 4G unit can bridge the LTE interface with the Ethernet one, so the public IP gets presented directly to the RB750 just like a normal WAN interface.

Not that it's an offically supported usecase, but it's possible with the B618 with the right firmware too :)

Automatic fail-over to 4g using a mikrotik 3011 and a WAP4G acting a second WAN connection. I use Vodafone because they give me 4 free Data SIMs
