I have just bought a sony ericsson t610. What i liked most about it is the ability to hook it up to a pc and download games images save photos to the pc and also create ringtones etc. So I thought the best way would be to also purchase an innocent looking usb bluetooth dongle for the pc. It came with its own instalation cd which contained Widcomm 1.3.7.2 software. I installed that, it wasnt a completely smooth process but what ever is? I managed to detect the t610 and the phone detected the pc. I uploaded 1 ringtone into the t610 and it worked. Tried to upload another and the pc crashed. Rebooted got an error message about btsendto_explorer causing an invalid page fault in kernel32.dll (effing hate IPF's!!!). The error message would not go away even after an alt+ctr+del. I tried to run the installtion again which tried to remove the previous install, it crashed again. I had to manualy search through my hard drive and delete all the bt files (bluetooth). Another installation later I manged to get 2 files into the phone and then it stopped working again! I have spent my whole weekend searching for drivers and software anything to do with bluetooth, installing, rebooting, uninstalling, rebooting and having no luck. I have found other installs exactly the same as widcomm but different names (msi) but the same happens with them. I am running win98se. Does anyone know of software, drivers etc which can gt my bluetooth dongle working without any conflicts and missing .dll's? PLEASE I would appreciate it so much!

TDK usually is the best and most updated drivers, in my opinion. The fact you have the GPF in Kernel32 shows you probably have a machine which you need update or you have other softwares causing conflicts.

Before doing the install, make sure you remove softwares you don't need, visit the Windows Update website, run an antivirus and Lavasoft's AdAware...

I am still having grief with this bloody bluetooth. I am going to stick with the widcomm software as it was the software supplied with the dongle. When I first installed it when I tried to get into my bluetooth places it would not open. When I tried to delete all of the prevous bluetooth stuff to do a reinstall i cannot delete the "my bluetooth places" icon and i think this is stopping me from reinstalling as when i try the setup wizard tries to remove previous bluetooth stuff and gets stuck, /i guess it is getting stuck trying to get rid of "my bluetooth places". Please help me someone. can also ask if bluetooth works with windows 98se? If not i think i will get a new computer with xp.
