Hello.
In my past week my previous router (a Dynalink RTA1320) died. It slowly started to drop connections and in the end it was dropping them every few minutes, making it near unusable. It was a great little thing while it lasted thought.
Anyway, I ended up buying a DSE XH9949 to replace it. The good news it that the device is very similar (same chipset) to the previous router, but I'm unable to set it up in half-bridge mode like my previous setup.
I've been using a TP-LINK TL-WR642G as the end of the bridge and which my computers/devices are connected to.
When I try to simply enable to half-bridge, the AP (the TL-WR624G) can see my assigned IP from my ISP, but in the traffic selection of the WebUI, nothing is being receivied. It is sending thought.
I've tried taking the AP out of the equaltion by enabling half-bridge and connecting the router directly to my PC, which worked. Although for some reason in Windows, the connection keeps reconnecting, but when I tried Ubuntu Linux, the connection was stable and ran fine. Checking the logs (in both OSs), there was a lot a lines about the DHCP assigment. When the router is in half-bridge mode, there isn't any avaible options about DHCP in the router, so I presume these are from the ISP. Correct me if I'm wrong.
When the AP is connected to the router, I cannot access the router, so checking its log is out of the question. The logs of the AP doesn't give me any useful infomation either.
So now I'm all out of ideas. If anyone has any ideas on how I can fix this, they'll be much apperiated.
Thanks.
