Just got New ORBI188. Keep disconnecting. Just got it 5 hours ago.

Laptop i7/HP which I have connected via ethernet

2x Androids (both different models)

2x ChromeCast (Both different models)

Been with 2degrees for 10years. No issues

Unlimited Fibre (299/108Mbps peak time average speeds*)

Then I changed to Ultimate Unlimited

Fibre (876/497Mbps peak time average speeds*)
Everything wifi just kept disconnecting.
Had 2 fritzboxes and 2 orbi.

20 minutes after using the orbi and speaking to netgear first. Netgear assured me the disconnections had nothing to do with my devices as I have so many of them especially when I get family over with ps5/smartphones etc experiencing the same issues.

What Orbi system are you running, the number you have above sounds more like the default network SSID the device is shipped with (as seen on the sticker under the Router along with the default password).

Have you set it for DHCP?

Have you turned ONT off and on again?

I was dealing with tier 1 tech. I doubt it. All we did was "set it up". No under the hood mechanics.

You've posted a few times now mentioning WiFi disconnects but as above you do also state you have some devices on Ethernet. Do these disconnect too?

If it is just WiFi I don't think you're ever going to actually get a resolution. WiFi runs on shared radio spectrum, isn't dedicated and it could be a simple case of having interference around your area causing problems (fully unrelated to your ISP). Think an old TV or Radio when something like a blender or vacuum cleaner turned on back in the day.

You also mentioned in the past you had a TDR case. As I've mentioned, they don't investigate WiFi issues as there are too many variables here.

Given this has been going on for this long I don't know what you expect to get from us here. You've had 4 routers and all having the same problems so either the problem (as people have stated) is with your ONT or with your WiFi devices but also I do believe you've had a whole lot of troubleshooting with 2degrees too.

You can change providers if you believe this is 2degrees but I seriously think the problem will follow you no matter what router you grab or who you're with. Perhaps an option is to go with a provider like https://www.nownz.co.nz/ who can do at-home support to help you sort out environmental issues?

I also edited the top post to remove the logs as it had a little bit of personal information in it and also didn't provide anything meaningful. Your internet didn't appear to be dropping with leads me to believe the problem is simply with your WiFi caused by local interference. This is where a provider like Now who manage the service may be better for you going forward.

With so many different routers and Ethernet working fine, this isn't a router problem. Your area must have an interference problem.

Is that just coincidence?

If ethernet is OK is that proof that there's nothing network related that could influence wifi?

From the previous threads it sounds like the Orbi replaced an older Fritz!Box that was perhaps dealing with the interference better. I say based on a router swap and nothing to do with a plan swap.

I've got a good friend of mine on Skinny who has massive issues with WiFi just dropping out. I placed a Linux box on her network to monitor the connection (speed and Smokeping) but nothing has been picked up there. Her router is also configured at a fixed channel and been monitoring router logs too but I have not managed to solve this with 3 different routers / access points. I'd say this issue is very similar and I totally understand the frustration (it is frustrating for me attempting to solve it for my friend!) yet alone somebody less technical who only has their ISP to help.

This is why I recommended NowNZ as they have at-home support who may be able to get things running nicely.

Have you checked the actual logfile in the router itself? that should say the reason for disconnect
