hiya guys,Im noob in this so be gentle k?:D

ive just revived a brick linksys wrt54g version 3.1.and flash it with dd wrt v24.
after alot of strugling and frustation (when i found out the router doesnt support PPPoA) I managed to conect it to wan with the help of d'link dsl502lt.
and ive got 2 other user (wifi conection) who want to join in.i dont want them to use all my bandwith.so Im thinking about making a hotspot system.since it would manage it perfectly fine.but which one?ive signed worldspot.net but cannot connected (maybe bcos it doesnt support nz?)

well is there a solution to my problem?
is there any free hotspot back-end provider in nz?

Turn off DHCP in the wrt54g - DHCP is run by the dlink

Dont plug anything into the wan port of the wrt. Join the Dlink and the wrt together using their lan plugs.
Then log into the wrt and enable the traffic shaping on the wifi connection - if i remember right, you can limit the speed, turn on qos and a few other things.

Sorry there are no free providers of hotspot backends in NZ. Most of the local ones want to sell you a pre-configured ap. I would recomend hotspotzone or zonecd as good back end providers.

now im learning to use zonecd.so if my wifi wants to up and running, i should running the 24hour rite?
will try tat one..

Yes you will need a dedicated computer with 2x network cards running 24/7.
Or you could find a commercial chilispot backend provider which openwrt should have the front end built in. I think the cost of the back end providers start at around $10 per month - One of these providers I think is the the commercial / paid version of zonecd. You can build it into what you are charging your friends for their wifi access.

Anyhow, the zonecd-pc has its internet network card plugged into your dlink, and the lan / hotspot network card plugged into a lan port on your wrt54

hiya guys..i already try zonecd and sumhow when it boot.it wont continue and it says "no job control in this shell".so i leave zonecd now and using sputnik express (the free one).but it has limited (only shows 15last session,and 5days log).so im trying to learn how to use wifidog now,just start adding prequisites and staff.
ill be running it from ubuntu

has anyone try it before?:)
