Hi Lads
I have a Desktop with broadband Via a nic run surfboard modem running 98se, i would like to share its internet connection with my laptop running 98se.
All i have is two Tecom usb dongles and so far all i have managed id file sharing! Will this cofiguration work for internet sharing?
I dont have much networking knowledge so im stuck really even with the basics although i can run a couple of machines together for gaming on nics.
I read the guides but im still lost there doesnt seem to be one for se.
I could really do with help cofiguring the bluetooth TCp/ip adapter, no matter what i do i get a PPP protocol error.
Thanks

Yes, it will work but not without some changes.

Windows 98 SE has ICS but not installed by default like Windows 2000 or Windows XP. You'll have to add it from the installation CD.

If this is not viable try running WinRouter.

You can follow our Bluetooth Guides and use the checklist if things do not work. The configuration on the server side of your setup should be the same as doing the configuration to allow a PDA to connect, like in our Guides.

Keep us informed.

hi
Thanks for taking the time to reply freitasm i have looked at the guides and installed ICS which immedietly stopped my cable modem from connecting. So have you any idea why?Ive uninstalled it for now.
Were in win98se do i find the Sharing" tab and tick "Enable Internet Connection Sharing for this connection". i dont seem to b able to find it.Is pairing the two devices a must to make this work because when i try to do this it carnt find the laptops bluetooth device even though i am using them to file share.
Thanks again for your time

ICS on Windows 98 is not part of the OS like in Windows XP and I know there are some procedures to create the sharing, not only the "Sharing" tab. You might want to try Winrouter then...
