i changed my network card's mac address, and when i look at my router's dhcp clients, it only lists the ip address of my network card and the mac address is blank. before i changed my mac address, i could see it displayed in the dhcp clients list when logging into my router. i reset my router but no change.
any idea why my router cannot see my mac address now? windows xp can see it though.

You'll have to renew your lease, so that the router can then associate the MAC address with the lease it hands out for it.

Are you aware that MAC address changes are only temporary, and that unless you have the right tools, you can't change the MAC address stored on the card permanently?

temporary? u mean when i restart my pc the original mac address will be back? i tried that, and my changed mac address is still there. i know the mac address is built into the hardware, but you can change it so routers see the changed mac address instead of the original one.
