Hello everyone,

Recently I bought a 512 Mb MMC and a BlueTooth USB adapter in order to transfer files from and to my nokia 6230 using my laptop.
The fact that puzzles me is that the transfer rate is only 20Kbps from pc to phone (no matter if directly to phone memory or mmc card). The adapter is this one:

What shall I do at this point ? Change the adapter ? Is it normal that the tranfer rate should be only 20 Kbps ????

It all depends on how this is implemented. For example, some PDA and phones implement Bluetooth with a serial UART, limiting speed.

Also, are you talking 20Kb or 20KB? 20KB (as in Bytes, not Bits), is around 115Kb, which is the Serial UART limit, so I suppose this is the limit on your phone.

It's 20KB average. So you're right: it's the UART speeding limit. Thank you anyway.

Hi Alex,

Just a curiosity: does your NOKIA 6230 recognise all 512MB MMC space?

What is your main use for that memory? MP3 player? If so, does it work well?

Yes I use 512 mmc mainly for mp3s. And my 6230 recongnizes it.

ONE NEW THING: the transfer rate from phone to pc is (average) 50 KB !!! From pc to phone remains 20 KB....

This is so strange....
