I use a netgear WGT624 router connected via an ethernet cable to my upstairs computer. I connect wirelessly through my downstairs computer(this one) with a netgear WG311T wireless adapter. Obviously, my internet connection is working fine, but the problem lies with the sharing of files. I have both computers in the workgroup of MSHOME. When I am on my upstairs computer i can access files on this computer no problem through the windows explorer. When i am on this computer, whenever i click on my network places and view workgroup computers i see the upstairs computer. When i click on that computer it displays an error message.

"\\Familyis not accessable. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
The specified network name is no longer available"

I have both of my windows firewalls off and it still wont work. I can ping to my default network router ip address. When i try to ping to the upstairs computer i get the message

'ip address' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

I am quite confused and i need access to my files on my computer upstairs, as i once had before.
Thank you so much in advance
