Is it possible to bridge a LAN and a bt network when a router provides dhcp services within the network. Is ICS in such a case totally precluded?

Yes, it should work ok. Just make sure to use the PAN profile (Personal Area Network) instead of LAP:

It is somewhat strange. I can change the properties of my LAN connection to share the internet connection. After bridging the BT PAN network and the LAN this dialogue to share the internet is no longer available in the "bridge". Does this have to do with the firewall setting of SP2. When I switch on ICS before bridging I am told that I have to bridge two networks where ICS is not enabled.

Any solution to this? Thanks.

Bridge and ICS are exclusive. If you want to use ICS you have to use the Bluetooth LAP profle. If you want to use Bridge then you have to use the Bluetooth PAN profile.

With PAN you should either have a DHCP server on your network or manually configure your Pocket PC.

I just noted what you said. I always was of the opinion that a bridge was required to do ICS. Bridge cannot be used in conjunction with ICS. Here is what I did. I created a PAN and enabled the ICS on my LAN ..... after that I could well surf with my iPaq over the existing internet connection.

Now it is time to play around a bit ..... :-)
