Any idea why my internet connection drops once or twice a day? Setting to be always on, but how do I make it retry? Also got Linksys Ata connected
Thanks

Check with Slingshot how many GB you're doing a day. I've found that every 1-1.5 GB it disconnects and reconnects on Orcon for me.

Slingshot dont as I would be seeing multiple disconnects if that was the case. - goes 100s of hours without a PPP drop.

I would be looking at the router as the culprit based on past experiance with dynalinks on both telecom and orcon ports being somewhat less than optimal as far as being up all the time.

fyi - it was the modem . A few years old, replaced with an Rta1025W, no issues for 4 days now. zero drops, way to go. Slingshot tech explained that modem was getting overloaded

The dynalinks are good modems, except for heat issues which finally kill them in a manner you were seeing.

Yes that's the 1-2 year Dynalink 1320 heat death.

Hopefully the new 1320E version has better case design but remains to be seen if it's better.

The TP Link TD8840 uses almost exactly the same hardware (broadcom chipsets) inside and doesn't appear to have the same bad reputation as the old 1320's as far as I can tell.
