As you can probably tell,I know almost nothing about networking!Currently,in my outside room, approx 40m from my router,I ran 2 cat5e cables from my outside room to my router-Belkin N1-in my home office, which allowed my WDTVLive and my PS3 to access the net,and used TVersity to stream video from my Windows7 laptop. All worked fine, but have recently upgraded my security system to a dvr/camera setup, and have used the cat5 cables, one to video over cat5,the other an IR extender. In order to get my WDTV and PS3 online again, can I just run 1 more cat5 from the outside room back to the router, and install a network switch in the outside room, and plug both devices into this?
Gazza the confused...
I know i can use wireless, but too many obstructions to make it reliable.

Yes you can link an extra switch back to a port on the switch in the Belkin to extend the number of ports no worries.

<$50ish for a 5 port gigabit switch these days.
