Hi all

Nice guide from nosoerfer (excuse spelling). Same problem. Followed guide, Device Manager shows the hardware (as a CSR USB Bluetooth device) and it is using the WIDCOMM 1.4.2.8 driver dated 17/06/2003, details page shows
USB\VID_0A12&PID_0001\5&B114931&0&1

Double clicking on the red/blue icon brings up the "Bluetooth device not found. Please ensure plugged in" type error message.
left clicking and "start using Bluetooth" returns the licence error message. Browse the licence file provided with the software, and it doesn't seem to do anything (same licence error message when left clicking again).

Any ideas? Followed the advice given in earlier threads, to no avail.

System is an IBM Thinkpad T22, XP + SP1, and a "MBD-C2.1-4" bluetooth dongle.

And any ideas where I can get the 1.4.2.10 driver? Cant get for love or money!

Whats really interesting is that the driver install finds the dongle, but post-install though Device Manager can see it, the Bluetooth software cannot!

Could it be that the driver in use is not the Widcomm, but the Windows XP SP2 default driver? You should check this thread for more information and see if this is the case.

Well, as I said, I had followed the details in that guide. But I can't seem to get the device recognised. Interestingly, anoher machine with the same problem, except for the licence file; instead of blankly accepting it, it retunrs "unknown error with your licence file" (but that is immaterial).

Under Unix, everything is fine - the laptop sees the device, and then finds my Nokia phone. But i need to get it working under Windows on the laptop.
