got a i-mate jam. I also have a f8t003 belkin pen drive. I want to connect to the net with the JAM thru the bt on the pc. So i set up a PAN. - "no devices found what support this". Alright, so i right click on BT settings on the pc > settings > properties of hand held device. I enable DUN and SPP. However i get nothing on the Jam. However if i connect using the usb, i can use internet on the JAM perfect. Btw both the jam and pc connect easily with the BT ie. ive sent files one to another. However i cant connect to the net. Help please???

The I-mate JAM does not support the LAP or PAN profiles, blame it on Microsoft's implementation of Bluetooth.

Your option for sharing your network is to establish an ActiveSync session over Bluetooth, and like the USB connection you'll have Internet access through your network.

how would you go about compsoing a avtive sync net connection with the bluetooth, from pc to jam. Ive tryed everything to do it. But cant get around of doing it. Ive followed some guides, but there options seem to be differnt then mine.

Our Bluetooth Guides cover both the PC and Pocket PC sides. In some cases the screenshots may difer, depending on if you are using Widcomm, Microsoft, or BlueSoleil software.

In short it comes to defining an incoming Bluetooth serial port on your PC, configuring ActiveSync on your PC to accept connections on this new port, and then pairing and configuring the Pocket PC.

Note that there is no need for any port configuration on the Pocket PC. The guides show what is needed.

right, i followed the active sync with sp2. i think the problem is, that the active snyc on the pda is not connecting to the pc correctly. the errors it comes up with are "unable to connect, verify your dialup or proxy settings are correct, and try again. That is when i try to connect thru active sync. So i go to the bluetooth options on the pda, to connect thru active sync there, anr it comes up sayin "please start bonding with other bt device which suports serial port or active sync profile as your avtice sync partner". I followed every step correct on the walkthru on the tutorial section, so i dont know where it is going wrong. Has it got something to do with the ports??? thanks

You have to first configure ActiveSync on your PC. After this then you pair the Pocket PC to your PC. If they are already paired, please delete the pairing from your Pocket PC then start over.

Once the pairing is completed the Pocket PC will automatically identify if the other side is running ActiveSync and setup that for you.

The Pocket PC side should look like this guide.

ive tryed to see what port im using using the "get connected" but its saying "your device is not detected". But its saying ports 1,2,4 are available.
