I have an existing wireless network at home. I just installed an Airport Card into my Mac G3 ibook. The Airport card seems to be installed correctly. However, when I try to sign into the network it tells me that the password is incorrect. I recently added another computer to the network so I know the password is correct. What is wrong and what can I do?

What OS X version is the iBook running?

What brand/model and security is running on the wireless network?

no clue. how would I find out? Our provider is Time Warner-one of those bundles that gives you cable, internet and phone together. Does that help?

Have a look at your modem / router - should be plugged in somewhere in your house, and see if it has a model or make written on it.

Time-Warner? Isn't that an American ISP? You might be able to get a more knowledgeable person if you ask on a more international forum. We can still try to help of course.

Your iBook is most likely unable to deal with WPA security. Change your WiFi security to WEP on your router and then test it out on the iBook. If it works then you're going to be less secure (much less) than if you use WPA but at least it will work.
