Hey does anyone know if there is WFi access at the domestic terminal of Wellington Airport? And if so who the provider is?

No, nothing at the Wellington Airport - neither Auckland...

In auckland airport I found a wifi connection while waiting for a domestic flight to auckland. Off the top of my head I think you had to pay by credit card.
I can't wait until xtra increase their wifi footprint to the airports, makes travel easier.
When I was in Auckland I used an apache instead of wifi.

Wow that is really surprising! I thought airports would have been one of the first places they would setup WiFi hotspots.

Im originally from the Hawkes Bay and even Napier Airport has a Telecom HotSpot

I noticed some WiFi at AKL AirNZ Domestic departure lounge a couple of weeks ago

This page http://www.tmcnet.com/usubmit/2006/06/07/1674261.htm mentions
"Under with Airport Wi-Fi: the Auckland International Airport in New Zealand has rolled out its first public-use hotspot , found around the food court and departures retail area. Gates 29, 30 and the lounge at the Qantas terminal also have service, all using Cisco access points and a Bluesocket gateway"

That page might be talking about International terminal, because it looked like the stuff I saw wasn't Bluesocket, it had some other AP name and HP NZ branded all over it

It was obscenely expensive (but at least it would let you use unused WiFi minutes at a later date, up to 12 months later) so I quite happily got out the 3G card and synched away. If only they offered at a reasonable price

Whats the story with the Telecom hotspots? How do I use for a reasonable cost if I'm not a Telecom / Xtra customer?

I believe there is one in wellington airport, although i think it costs.

The one in AirNZ domestic AKL would let you use a Credit Card, signup right there online

Hmmm. These are new. But these areas in the AKL airport are always crowded, it really should be closer to the gates.

If you have a Telecom Mobile Broadband data account (Harrier, Apache or 3G card) then it's free until the end of August. Otherwise you can login using an Xtra account, or purchase prepaid cards. Or pay as you go with a credit card.

There IS a public wifi service at Auckland Airport (put in by HP), but it's not being publicised yet.

BUT - not in the Koru Lounge. Koru Lounge belongs to Air NZ, and they are 'funny' about letting anyone in.

I was reading the Air New Zealand Gold Newsletter and they are planning a Wi-Fi hotspot of their own for the Koru Lounge.
