Hi there, I have a sony vaio and this morning the wireless switch on it that connects to my wireless router wasn't working. Not had that happen before. I used a cable to connect and after about 2 mins the switch turned on. Any ideas why its not turning on initially?

The driver assistant could be disabled or not running on startup,
The network interface in the control panel could be disabled

Or it may have somehow been turned off in the bios.

Alternativley, there is a key combination you can press.
Its usually Fn + F2 or Fn+wifi symbol key
the wifi symbol key is usually a small symbol of an antenna mast with radio waves coming off it.

Another option is a helper application that could be running in the bottom right of the screen near the clock. Look for a network or wireless managment program. Usually you can just right click the icon and click enable wlan or wifi.

3, open the network and sharing centre from your control panel, then in the left hand side click on manage network interfaces. You will then see a screen with local area network and wireless network - right click on the wireless network and enable it.

If none of the above work, then it will need a computer tech to look at it as it may be a driver helper application that isnt running.
