First geekzone post - Can anyone provide any "decent" feedback on the Dynalink Modem/Router
RTA 1320E (the one that comes free with TelstraClear when you sign up online?) Everyone I have talked to thinks it might struggle to work in a two storey house.

Also - if it is the case that it doesn't work very well. Can anyone recommend a decent / cheap router that will work with TelstraClear?

The amount of storeys on a house is pretty irrelevant to how a single port modem performs.
These modems ive found have high syncs rates and are very stable. I use the newer version, RTA1320V6

As pointed out by eXDee the RTA1320E is a basic dsl modem and doesn't have a wireless access point.

I think Telstraclear are offering a free wireless modem on their new $75 plan package, one of the Netcomm models.

Alternatively a TP Link TD-W8960N for $99 from from Computer Lounge or Playtech is good bang for buck.

Maybe they were trying to tell you that you don't have data wiring in your house so u need the wireless. The only reason why you might not go for a separate wifi accesspoint is that it involves more configurations and potential probelms to solve. the RTA1320 also has a history of overheating and tends to run fairly hot, but you do need to decide how many devices you are directly plugging into it since theres only one LAN port.

Time to find a new industry!
