Would anyone be able to help me out with a free NZ Proxy server that I could use.

I have no problems with National Traffic, only International with slow speed tests and packet loss.

I know that this cannot be fixed for sometime.

I have tried the list on http://aliveproxy.com/proxy-list/proxies.aspx/New_Zealand-nz but most don't work, or get errors when I try to load webpages.

I doubt you'll see any speed up on international using a proxy..

National is fine with over 16Mb/s
International is below 0.5 Mb/s
Hence I'd like to try a NZ proxy

You could always switch ISP's to somebody that has sufficient bandwidth for their customers..

The other thing is to ensure everything at your end is configured correctly first such as your MTU and that both your router and PC(s) are using the correct MTU. If you have fragmentation occuring international traffic can be significantly affected.

You'd be lucky to find a reliable open proxy through which you can push 16Mbit even in the US, let alone one in NZ.

I dont expect anything near 16Mbps through a proxy, but any improvement over the current international rates would be great

But you're still expecting something for free - somebody else has to ultimately pay for that international transit.

As mentioned above your best bet is to first check your setup, and if performance is still bad move to an ISP that doesn't shortchange it's customers by not buying sufficient international bandwidth.

Practically every data centre in NZ has interconnection to Telstraclear either direct or via Telecom (who interconnect with Telstraclear).

Quite a few of the large overseas VPN providers have a least one server in NZ, eg: Overplay, SuperVpn, IAPS etc etc there are loads.

Otherwise if you are moderately tech savy you can rent a VPS from any NZ host you like and setup SSH/OpenVPN on it and use that.
