You got the idea but thats a 'full' bridge mode. Half bridge leaves the modem in control of the PPP-over-ATM (authentication & encapsulation) and uses it's TCP/IP stack to deliver the WAN IP packets straight from out of the PPPoA layer to your PC/router (and not through it's NAT engine).

The PPPoA ADSL topology is ugly compared to PPPoE ADSL or ethernet, it looks a bit like this;

OK, so I'm following about half of this. I think I have a simpler version of the problem but would be keen on understanding and resolving it ...

Have just moved from Woosh to PDQ, and have a Dynalink RTA 1025W wireless modem/router. Internet works wonderfully. I can use FileZilla or Windows ftp to access my FTP sites; but I develop applications (field and office) that use FTP; I develop in Delphi using the Indy FTP client, and when I'm on PDQ I'm getting a message "I won't open a connection to 192.168.1.2 (only to 121.72.14.147)"

My applications work fine if I'm going through Woosh or my Vodem; and the other FTP sites work fine through PDQ.

I figure I can tackle this issue on two fronts : working out what the Indy client is doing differently, and working out what is different about the PDQ setup.

Can anyone give me some pointers about setting up the wireless modem/router ?
