If you bypass the router, and connect a computer direct to the RTA1320 (picking up the external IP), what happens to the speed? Be aware that the computer you use to do this won't have the benefit of the router's firewall for the duration...
Just trying to isolate the problem one device at a time...
Which Gargoyle firmware are you running? I have the same set up running fine for the past year but started having same problem as yours since upgraded to 1.5.8. Have reverted back to 1.5.6 and even 1.4.7 but still after some time Speed becomes too slow. It's the Wi-Fi as speeds get back to normal if I change the channel or restart the router only.
Tried plugging directly into the modem and eventually received the public IP address, but could not browse any websites, seemed to be working just incredibly slowly, could ping the default gateway address, public vodafone ip address. Went back to plugging into the router and speeds were about 1500kbs this morning and by 3pm were back at 9800kbs.
