reven: i would say, try without a static ip (if you dont already have one) and if it becomes a hassle, spend the extra $5 or so a month to get a static ip address.

$5? What ISP are you with.  Vodafone's static IP is $20!

If you happen to be with Vodafone you'll need to request a static IP that's not behind their transparent proxy, otherwise it won't work.

Telecom gives out free Static IP for their broadband connection. This is one of the selling points they listed at least when I signed up last April.

Do whatever you want to do man.

TCL cable provides static IP for free but alas it's behind their transparent proxy. That breaks Unblock-US for browser based access (have to use a VPN) but is no issue with devices like the PS3, Android tablets and the like.

I regularly re-register a new IP address with Unblock-US since occasionally I will want to watch Netflix or Hulu+ on the road on my tablet tethering my phone or with a 3G wifi device. I don't know about IOS but on Android it's easy enough to configure the wifi settings on the device to point to Unblock's DNS servers.

And as an aside with 2D I am usually able to watch Netflix with little or no buffering.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.
