JAMMAN2110: Thankyou to everyone so far who has put my "awesome" mspaint diagram to shame..

No problem :-)

Openoffice.org Draw (open source) also has Visio like capabilities, including 'follow-me' connectors that let you move items around, and still maintain that link to another device.

I havent used it much though, so not sure exactly how capable it is.

This is my LAN layout, it feels small compared with some other very geeky setups, but it works for me.

Thanks JAMMAN2110 now mine has been down graded to the worst looking LAN.(maybe it already was)
I also used Openoffice draw, maybe i shudve have taken longer than 2 minutes to make it?

Holy s*it you guys have some complex home setups. I've seen "complex" network designs from business consults that are half as involved! :)

I have a Netscreen 5GT Wireless that's my whole network. There's no point drawing it. It does the ADSL, has my "server" plugged into it (a laptop with a broken screen that lives in my shed. When the lawnmower man comes the grass gets under the shed door and covers my server with grass clippings) and it does wireless for our laptops.

It can do multiple SSID's so I have my normal WPA SSID at full speed and a second, totally unsecured SSID with a rate shape of 56kbps (modem speeds!) Hardly anyone connects though...

if someone has some spare time could they draw mine. 8 PC + 2 failovers for gaming running of a GB netgear and Netgear Wireless router for aDSL, which also connects to an AS/400, which bridges a Toke ring connection to another AS/400. Off the Netgear router is a Nortel 350T split into 2 VLANs, the other connected to Woosh with a LynkSys wireless (only A/B) for testing. this has 2 W2K domain controllers, a SQL server on 2003 server and a DEC Alpha running Seawolf for Apache DHCP servicing.

back on the main VLAN theres a test bed running off a 10/100 3Com switch, this has 3 test boxes (KVM) and a spare se of connections on the workbench.

lastly is the newly installed sbs2003 which is part of the "rack", which has Mac G3, a HP Thin client, and 3 small forms running LInux, XP & OS/2.

oh, and a HP-UX box by the 400's.
