Hi everybody, can somebody with bluetooth run Belarc Advisor--its freeware that shows all your hardware and see if it will detect the bluetooth module and post exactly what it says.

thanks
Ray

Hey after reading all the replies, I am really confused about bluetooth, my laptop is a Acer Aspire 9301AWSMi and it has a bluetooth button and an indicator for if it's on and it's mentioned in the user guide so i'm sure that it should have bluetooth. When I click the button nothing happens and as far as I know the settings are on, the button is near my wireless button and when that's on it glows but I click the bluetooth and the indicator does not glow. Can someone please tell me how to find the settings to turn it on, because I asked acer and they just sent back about the button that you can click which is not very helpful. Please help me :-)

i had the same problem with the ir port a couple of years ago when i got my acer 1350. I managed to switch it on by accessing the bios at boot up. Th eir port was switched off so windows wouldn't recognise it. I don't know but it might be the same with the blue tooth

fyi my ACER 5100 dosen't have a BIOS setting for the bluetooth device. Here are the usual BIOS keys for different brands:

Delete
F1
F2
F3
F5
F10
Escape
Insert
Control + Escape
Alt + Escape
Control + Alt + Escape
Control + Alt + Enter

If none of these keys work, a baseball bat will always work.Wink
