NZSimplicity:
BlakJak: Can't explain the firefox thing. Sent a help request and a screenshot to the avm.de folks.

That's weird, I running 27.0 version of firefox and am haivng no trouble at all connecting to my fritz web UI,

The front page won't render the password box. I get a background with the Fritzbox logo, and a little empty box with no room to type anything in.

As a control I fired up another machine and tested it there. That box did the same thing (leading me to conclude it was definately a Firefox thing) so I applied the update to 27 and retried. Same problem between v26 and v27.

Then I hit combinations of F5 and Ctrl-F5 about 10 times and suddenly the login box appears :o

I wonder if it's something odd about browser caching.

Just tried again on the first machine. Upgrading FF then smacking F5 lots of times suddenly saw things come right. Odd.

Update worked flawlessly for me on Snap UFB. No problems with FireFox either.

i suspect the firefox issues thats being reported, would be IPv6 related.

anyone upgrading to 6.03 on VDSL will want to be treading very lightly.

no problems, is dependant on how you look at it, as i said, tread very lightly (a warning to be aware rather than saying DONT use it)...

the newer DSL firmware in the fritz's has been known to not play nicely with the DSLAM (i do recall there being mention of an option to go back to the 5.22 DSL firmware in your options now however.)

this has been seen to cause a range of issues, from an increased line attenuation, decreased speeds, through to increased error rates and NAT table overflow crashes. to make this worse, it has been seen to block a linecard, requiring a chorus tech to manually visit the cabinet to kick the connection back into gear.

in saying that, all of that is indeed worse case, and more commonly visible on shorter lines.

im glad it is working "fine" for you.

Can you please advise where this option is on a 7340? I have tried 05.51, 06.01, .03 they all have lower sync than 05.22 for me.

i have only seen it mentioned to me second hand on here.

im not braving my poor fritz with the possibility of AVM shafting the connection even more.

Ok, I have Freetz image on 05.51 and noticed the sync was lower by 5Mbps, I was going to drop back to 05.22.
However I'll try Freetz on 06.03, will check it out.

Well I now have no VDSL sync after upgrading...

What type of line card are you on? (you can find out in the DSL Info section.. It will be Ikanos or Broadcom

I'm on a Broadcom. Seems Fritz's may not like them.. I dropped from 44/10 on Ikanos to 33/10 on Broadcom when Chorus randomly swapped me and now I have no sync on 6.03 :(

06.03 is also shafted.  Dropped back to 05.22 working fine, sync is better.

I have found 05.22 has the better VDSL firmware implementation for my line.  I have tried 05.51, 06.01, .03 they ALL have lower sync than 05.22 for me.
