It explains the pros/cons of ethernet cable, bigger antennas (which the dlink 604 should allow you to swap) and powerline homeplug adaptors

Either way you probably need a second router or access point in the house as a secondary base station.

Call me ignorant, but until today I had never heard of such a thing as a "straw bale house"

Just googled it. Pretty cool. I suppose you can't keep any cattle in your yard? Wake up and half your house is gone :-p
